About UsSEMDN was established in June 2006, managed by the Canterbury Enterprise Hub and funded by SEHTA. The European Medical Device Sector is second largest to the USA with more than 30% of the worlds' market share. The UK alone spends more than 5% of its healthcare budget each year on medical devices and with 50% of the Medical Device Companies based in the area, the South East really is leading the way forward for this sector in the UK. As a location, the South East could not be better equipped for the medical device industry - its close proximity to Europe, London and agencies such as the NHS Purchasing and Supply Agency provides a wealth of information and opportunities. The role of SEMDN is to ensure that companies based in the South East capitalise on what our region has to offer. |
